GREAT THINGS ARE HAPPENING AT THE JCC ANNOUNCEMENT: · THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE JCCDC IS NEGOTIATING THE SALE OF THE PROPERTY. · ALL JCC AND AFFILIATED PROGRAMS WILL CONTINUE! We aren't going anywhere! The JCCDC will remain at 110 South Grand Avenue, and we will continue to offer all of our programs and services! Unlike our local Y’s, which had to close their doors in recent years, we feel very fortunate to be able to stay open and to plan for the future! · ChangePoint Church, a non-denominational Christian church, plans to purchase the property. · ChangePoint will renovate currently underutilized spaces for worship, offices and classrooms. · ALL JCCDC programs will continue: ◦ The Early Childhood Center ◦ Seniors' programs ◦ Athletic programs in the Gym, Pool and Personal Training/Fitness ◦ Events like Community Seder, Purim Carnival, Shalom! On Grand · All organizations will also be able to continue on site: ◦ The Community Hebrew School ◦ Jewish Federation of Dutchess County ◦ Jewish Family Services ◦ Jewish War Veterans Now, with YOUR involvement, we look forward to building a stronger JCC! Please be a part of shaping our future!

Mitzvah Day 2012 Mitzvah Day 2012 is coming up just around the corner, on Sunday, May 20, 2012. Members of the Jewish community in Dutchess and Ulster Counties will come together to help a variety of non-profit organizations, undertaking more than 15 projects, outdoors and indoors. There will be opportunities for young and old to do a variety of “mitzvah” projects – cleaning streams, planting gardens, doing mailings, performing at nursing homes, maintaining Jewish cemeteries, cooking at soup kitchens, and much more. Mitzvah Day collections of cereal for the hungry, used computers, and toiletries will also take place at the JCCDC in Poughkeepsie. Mitzvah Day registration goes online on May 1, 2012 at www.jewishdutchess.org. You can also volunteer by calling 845-471-9817 or email jfs@jewishdutchess.org. A fun day of service and learning for all!
